Notes:

1. According to MOE regulations, the department does not provide full scholarship.

2. The department recruits both male and female students.

3. Students who want to obtain teacher's certificate must be regulated by Teacher Education Law.

4. Students must serve internships in kindergartens for the first year after graduation.

5. Child Education Development aims to recruit candidates who have chosen to pursue a career in child education. High school graduates who love children and are liberal-minded are especially welcome.

Qualification

I. Bachelor's degree or equivalent from colleges or universities.

II. Eligible applicants to the part-time program:

1. Qualified teachers with a minimum of two years of teaching experience; in-service teachers in public or private elementary schools or kindergartens (including school principles, directors, and kindergarten principles). Candidates must submit a photocopy of teaching certificate or in-service certificate.

2. Other education professionals with a minimum of two years of working experience in educational or social-service institutions. Candidates must submit a photocopy in-service certificate.

Grading And Enrollment Policy

1. Percentages: General Subjects: 40%, Specialized Subjects: 60%

2. Candidates who was absent from any test or scored zero in any subject will not be enrolled.

3. Candidates on the waiting list might be enrolled in order of higher scores.

1. Child Education 2. Child Development 3. Chinese, and English

Notes

1. MA students who have not taken courses in child education before must complete relating credits after admission.

2. Students must take extra courses if their Chinese or English in the entrance examination did not reach the average-grade.

3. Part-time students should take no more than 9 credits in one semester, and no less than three years to finish the program.

4. Students must specify their identities at the time of application. No alterations should be made after admission.

Grading and Enrollment Policy

1. Written Examine: 50%

a. Specialized Subject (I): Child Education, 100 scores

b. Specialized Subjects (II): Child Development, 100 scores

c. Languages: 100 scores (Chinese 50%, English 50%)

2. Application Documents—working experience and professional performance: 20%

a. Relative working experience: 10%

(Based on the years of teaching or working in the realm of education: one point for one year, with a maximum of ten points)

b. Writings and publications in the relative realm (please enclose the original work): 10%

(Writings or creations published on academic conferences, journals, educational publications, books, newspapers, department newsletters, etc., for the last ten years.)

3. Learning capability and other outstanding performances: 30%

(Portfolio Evaluation and Management 30%)

*Candidates who was absent from any test or scored zero in any subject will not be enrolled .

Score Priorities

The enrollment policy is decided by the school admission committee. If more than two students score the same, they will be ranked according to scores in priority of: 1. Child Education 2. Child Development 3. Chinese 4. English.

Notes

Students should complete a minimum of 32 credits, and pass the degree examination, before getting the master's degree. Studying years range from 2 to 6 years.

*Students in this program are not permitted to take Educational courses/credits during the semesters.
